TrackMyMarkers uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help you get more value from your laboratory reports. This disclosure explains what AI does on the platform, what it does not do, how your data is handled during AI processing, and the safety measures we have in place. We believe in being transparent about where AI is involved and where human judgment is essential.
1. How AI Is Used
AI is integrated into several features of the platform to save you time and help you understand your data:
Document Extraction
When you upload a lab report, AI reads the document and identifies test names, values, units, reference ranges, and dates so you do not have to enter them manually.
Marker Mapping
AI maps extracted tests to known biomarkers in our library, handling aliases and variations in naming so your results are organized consistently.
Summaries & Comparisons
AI generates educational summaries of your marker history and comparisons between reports, highlighting what changed over time in plain language.
Q&A About Your Data
The AI Marker Analyst answers questions about your recorded results, such as “What changed since my last test?” — using only your verified and unverified data.
2. What AI Cannot Do
AI on TrackMyMarkers is strictly limited to educational and organizational tasks. It cannot and will not:
- Diagnose any medical condition, disease, or disorder.
- Prescribe medications, supplements, or treatments.
- Recommend that you start, stop, or change any medication.
- Provide medical advice or replace consultation with a healthcare professional.
- Predict future health outcomes or guarantee that a trend will continue.
- Interpret results in the context of your full medical history — only a qualified professional can do that.
AI outputs are generated from your recorded data and general reference information. They may be incomplete or inaccurate, especially if extracted results have not been verified. Always confirm AI-generated content against your original laboratory reports. See our Medical Disclaimer for more details.
3. How Your Data Is Handled
- Authorized data onlyAI processes only data you have uploaded to and authorized within your account. It does not pull information from external sources about you.
- Verified vs. unverifiedAI clearly distinguishes between results you have verified against your original report and results that are still unverified extractions. Summaries and comparisons note which data is confirmed and which is not.
- No model training on your dataYour health data is never used to train shared, public, or third-party AI models. AI processing uses your data only to generate results for you.
- Row-level isolationAI requests are scoped to your account through the same row-level security policies that protect the rest of the platform. No other user’s data is accessible during AI processing.
For full details on data protection, see our Privacy Policy.
4. Provider Architecture
AI features on TrackMyMarkers are powered by established AI providers through secured API integrations. Requests are routed from our servers to the provider, processed, and returned to your account. Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and is handled under agreements that prohibit the provider from retaining or training on your data. The specific provider and models used may change over time as technology evolves, but our data-handling commitments remain the same.
5. Safety Measures
- Human verification gate. Extracted results are never automatically saved as final. You review and verify every result before it becomes part of your permanent marker history.
- Clear labeling. AI-generated content is labeled as such throughout the platform. You can always tell when a summary, comparison, or answer was produced by AI.
- Disclaimer on outputs. AI summaries and reports include reminders that the content is educational, not medical advice, and should be verified against original reports.
- Scope limitations. AI is instructed to decline requests that ask for diagnosis, prescriptions, or treatment recommendations and to redirect users to a healthcare professional.
- Usage limits. AI usage is subject to plan-based limits to ensure fair access and prevent misuse.
6. Educational Framing
Everything AI does on TrackMyMarkers is framed as educational. The goal is to help you understand your own data — what the numbers are, how they have changed, and what questions might be worth discussing with your healthcare professional. AI summaries are not conclusions and should not be treated as such. They are a starting point for your own review and for conversations with qualified medical professionals who can interpret your results in the full context of your health.
